USGA and SheIS Sport Partner Together to Inspire & Provide Role Models
Have you noticed any of the tweets or posts being put out by the USGA or She IS with the hashtag #womenworthwatching?
With their combined efforts, these two organizations are launching a campaign highlighting extraordinary women and will run commercials and videos on social media and television during the coverage of the 75th playing of the U.S. Women’s Open Championship in Houston, Texas.
The Women Worth Watching campaign mission is “a long-term commitment by the USGA to use its championships and platforms to celebrate female athletes and role models while promoting equality and diversity in sports and society”.
Of all sports media, only 4 percent includes women. Awareness is the first step to making change.
And it is important for the next generation of girls to have successful female role models that can help provide inspiration and motivation.
“What does it take to be a champion?
It starts with a dream, it demands confidence and resilience.
What is the responsibility of a champion?
It’s being a role model, speaking up for something you believe in.
Powerful stories, inspirational performances, unforgettable moments.
Join Us.
Together we can show the world, I’m worth watching and so are they.”
