Birdie Babe Golf Cart Bag

The Birdie Babe Golf Cart Bag offers fun styles with 7 well-placed pockets and compartments including an insulated pocket to help keep drinks and snacks cool. There are 14 separate sections to hold your clubs and keep them organized so they don’t bang up against each other. 3 of these compartments have full-length dividers. TaylorMade Golf Bag with Stand

The TaylorMade Golf Bag with Stand is a traditional golf bag that is perfect for carrying or pushing on a cart. With two handles at the top for easy handling, it is lightweight and smaller than a cart bag. The golf bag comes with larger pockets on the side for items like a golf towel or a light jacket and has a small pocket for personals like money, credit cards, and other small items. There are front pockets for balls, tees, golf gloves, and other needed accessories. Several different color combinations are offered.

Their golf bags are designed with attention to detail and use fine luxury materials for their bags. This Vessel Golf Bag with Stand is made for those that want a golf stand and will carry their clubs on the course. The high tech golf bag has adjustable ergonomic straps that can be customized to one’s liking for added comfort and support.

It uses a special “rotator base technology” that helps keep the base on the ground for improved stability and balance. A magnetic accessories pocket is an additional feature that helps keep small personal items safe. The bag has 3 separate sections for clubs at the top.

Orlimar Golf Bag

Sometimes golfers may want to walk a golf course or head to the practice range without the hassle of bringing the entire golf bag or a full set of clubs. This Orlimar Golf Bag, sometimes referred to as a “pitch and putt bag” or a “Sunday bag”, is great for playing Par 3, Executive courses, 9 holes, or going to the practice range.

It holds about 6 – 7 clubs including the putter and has 1 pocket that can hold accessories such as balls, tees, ball markers, pencils, and a glove. The bag weighs less than 2 pounds and comes with a single shoulder strap as well as a stand to keep the clubs upright.

Women’s Golf Bags – Buying Guide and FAQ’s

With 14 clubs in the bag to carry in addition to all that’s needed on the course for a 2 – 4+ hour round, the golf bag is an important piece of your arsenal. Maybe it won’t provide you with pars all day long, but it can provide a level of comfort, enjoyment and some style to your game.

Depending on what you may need and are looking for, there is pretty much a golf bag for everyone. Golf bags have come a long way over the years and even more so in recent years. So many styles and levels of functionality are offered, which means so much to choose from.

Here are some frequently asked questions as well as factors to look at when purchasing a golf bag.

What Is The Difference Between a Golf Bag With a Stand and a Golf Cart Bag?

Let’s first look at the purpose of a golf cart bag versus a golf bag with a stand.

A golf “cart” bag is just that. Designed to be placed on a cart during a round of golf. Because of this, cart bags typically are larger and wider in size with many pockets that vary in size as well as separate sections on the top for each of your golf clubs.

A golf bag with a stand is designed for those who don’t want to lay their clubs on the ground when carrying. Like a kickstand on a bicycle, the stand helps prop up the golf bag when left alone. With two retractable legs that hold the golf bag upright at an angle, this allows for stability so the bag doesn’t tip over, and keeps the clubs and bag from lying flat on the ground.

Because these bags are designed with the purpose of being carried, they are typically smaller, lighter, and less bulky than a cart bag. These come with a single or double shoulder strap for added support when carrying the bag across the back.

Which Type of Golf Bag Should I Purchase?

It depends on whether you will be riding in a cart, pushing a cart, or carrying your golf clubs. If you are carrying your golf clubs, what kind of support do you need?

My parents live in a golf retirement community where they own a motorized electric golf cart and keep it in their garage. All golfers are required to use the golf carts on their home course. Since they rarely need to carry their golf clubs except on and off the golf cart, they both have large cart bags. Having a bag this size with lots of storage compartments and a place for each of their clubs is great to have as long as you don’t have to lift the bag very much. They are heavy!

My friend, on the other hand, walks and carries her golf clubs for 18 holes of golf. She uses a very lightweight women’s golf bag with a stand, and a double shoulder strap for added back support. She keeps her accessories to a minimum, so less pockets are needed as she doesn’t want to have to carry any unnecessary or extra weight.

If you use a push cart, you could actually go either way.

It depends on how bulky or how much extra weight you want to be pushing around on the course. I personally like to keep things light as I have a somewhat hilly course. Since I do a bit of walking and carry my golf clubs to and from the practice range, I need a ladies lightweight golf bag with a stand and double shoulder straps.

However, I have been thinking about purchasing a small Sunday bag like the one shown above to take a few clubs to the practice range.

What Other Factors Should I Consider When Purchasing a Golf Bag?

Here are a few other things to consider:

Pushcarts

If you plan to use a pushcart, make sure that the bag you purchase will fit on your pushcart. A big cart bag may actually be too big for the base of the push cart.

Also, think about how much weight you want to be pushing. Though you are pushing a cart, it is still expending energy. If you are playing on a flat course and it is an easy terrain, a bigger bag might be fine. However, if your terrain is quite hilly, you may want to think about the size and weight you will be pushing up the hills as well as holding the bag steady on the downhills.

Pockets

More and more golf bags are including a cooler compartment where you can keep a few drinks cool on a hot day. A very nice addition!

If you are going to be out on the golf course for a good 4 – 5 hours in the outside elements, you would be surprised by the number of accessories and needed items you might need.

Particularly if the weather is going to change while you are out there, it is important to bring extra layers and clothing to account for this. For example, if there are possible showers in the forecast, you’ll want to bring a rain jacket, umbrella, rain golf gloves and maybe even rain pants.

That right there takes up a lot of storage in one’s bag. Besides golf balls, tees, ball markers, repair tools, and golf gloves, you will need a place to store your wallet, phone, car keys, extra golf glove, sunscreen, water, beverages, and well you get the idea. There are a lot of extra items to bring and having different compartments or pockets can help keep these items organized, easy to find and access.

Ease of Use for Getting Clubs In and Out of a Bag

The main purpose of a golf bag is to hold your clubs.

A golfer can carry up to 14 clubs in their bag and some bags have separate dividers with is a compartment for each club. This is called a 15-way golf bag. Because of the space it takes up, these are usually cart bags. A carry bag or golf bag with a stand might vary from 3 to 7 separate sections.

If you don’t like the golf grips getting stuck on each other when pulling out a club or don’t like the clubs clanging against each other, you’ll want a separate compartment for each club, which would be a 15 – way golf bag with full length dividers.

Bag Style, Colors and Materials

You can have a lot of fun with your golf bag as there are so many styles, colors, patterns, and materials. The golf bag can be a reflection of your style or personality.

Do you want nylon, leather, or a performance material?

How about sleek, big and bold, or traditional?

Do you want flowers, polka dots, plaid, or block patterns?

Do you want blue, black, white, yellow, red, purple or a pink golf bag?

Yes, you can find just about anything. Have fun with this!

Monogramming or Personalization

Many golf bags show the name and logo of the brand. In addition to this, some golf bags have the option of adding customized monogramming, which is a nice feature. You’ll see this a lot with tour players as well as teaching professionals in the golf industry. If you want this added, check to see if the bag comes with this option.

Trends and Favorites for Women’s Golf Skirts for 2021

Golf skirts and apparel are so much more fun and colorful these days!

I remember in the past wearing pretty much khaki shorts with pleats and various different colored polo shirts. I don’t think skirts were much of an option 30 years ago.

It is very common to see women and girls wearing golf skirts or rather, skorts. Golf skorts are skirts with a pair of spandex or stretchy shorts underneath to provide coverage while golfing.

Golf skirts and skorts are designed to be fun, flattering, and comfortable. I love that there are more and more options being offered each year. And the fashion is now stylish enough to be worn on or off the golf course.

Here are some of my favorite golf skirts as well as a great selection of different styles, patterns, and colors below.

Top Recommended Women’s Golf Skorts

For a Golf Skirt Buying Guide, scroll further down.

Golftini Golf Skirt (Skort)

Golftini Skort

Golftini Golf Skirts are one of my favorite brands of golf skirts. They have a great length with enough coverage. The stretchy performance material used in this style of skirt is light, comfortable and breathable for hot days in the heat. And they have some really fun patterns and styles.

You can find a small front pocket for tees and a bigger back pocket for your golf glove if needed. The only con is that they can be on the pricier side. I used to only be able to find Golftini apparel in the pro shop at my golf club, but nowadays I am happy that I can find them online on Amazon and PGA Superstore.

LuluLemon Pace Rival Skirt

LuluLemon Golf Skirt

This LuluLemon Skort is a very cute fashionable skirt that I have seen many women and girls wear on the golf course. For me, I wear this LuluLemon skirt on the tennis courts and running, however as I have gotten older, it is a little too short for me to wear on the golf course.

My teenage daughters and my golfing friends look so adorable and fashionable in this skort and wear them golfing often. They have a few different colors and have a regular length as well as a longer “tall” length for a little more coverage. One con might be a lack of deep pockets.

Ekouaer Performance Golf Skirt (Skort)

I purchased this Ekouaer Performance Golf Skirt last summer because of the affordable price. I wasn’t sure so I bought one and well…loved it. Since there are tons of patterns, I’ll be ordering several more this season.

The stretchy material isn’t much different than some of the higher-end brands – and at a fraction of the cost! The coverage was good and the length was probably an inch shorter than my usual skirt length, but still enough to feel comfortable while golfing. The shorts are very light and comfortable. The only con I found was there are no pockets.

Callaway Golf Skirt / Skort

This Callaway Golf Skirt looks good and is a great staple to have in your golf wardrobe. It might even be good to have several in different colors. Easy to mix and match with different tops. They are comfortable and made of performance quick-drying material. They have 2 front pockets and a back pocket for golf accessories.

Royal and Awesome Golf Skirts

If you are looking for something a little more fun, check out these Royal and Awesome Golf Skirts. There are over a dozen fun and unique patterns. They are definitely a statement piece and could be a fun team tournament outfit.

Buying Guide and More Ideas – Golf Skirts for Women

1. What are there different lengths in golf skirts?

Yes, there are definitely various lengths in golf skirts.

My favorite length is about 2 inches above the knee as I like to be comfortable and have a bit more coverage on the course. I like to have at least a 16″ skirt length. Tennis skirts will be more along the lines of a 13.5″ skirt length.

Long Golf Skirts With More Coverage

2. Are short golf skirts acceptable?

As far as what is acceptable, golf courses have become a bit more lenient in the last few decades I’ve noticed, and accept various lengths and styles. However, there are still some private, exclusive or traditional golf clubs that follow a strict dress code on their course and in the clubhouse. Dress codes may limit the length of golf skirts and shorts.

Short Golf Skirts

3. What Are the Different Styles of Ladies Golf Skorts

There are so many different styles are being used in designing the latest golf skorts. You will see golf skorts with ruffles, pleats, lots of flow, bright colors, and many different patterns. So much to choose from!

Ruffled Golf Skirts and Pleated Golf Skirts

I love the new styles and bright colors of the island theme or resort wear golf skirts. So fun!

Cute Golf Skirts or Island Wear

5. Where Can I Find Cheap Golf Skirts That Are More Affordable?

You can find affordable or inexpensive golf skorts in many stores and online. The Internet has made it so much easier to find golf-specific clothes at very good prices and discounts. Be sure to check discounts especially at the end of the golf season as well as right before the golf season starts. Stores are trying to get rid of inventory before the new fashion lines arrive.

Affordable Golf Skirts

6. Where Can I Find Girls Golf Skirts?

I have found the best place to find girl’s golf skorts to be at PGA Tour Superstore as they have a great selection and are golf-specific. You can also find cute skirts at Athleta Girls, and Kohl’s.

Girls Golf Skirts

Where To Buy Golf Skirts / Golf Skorts

My 3 go-to places online to look for women’s golf clothes are Amazon, PGA Superstore, and ForeLadies Golf. These sites provide a nice assortment golf skirts / golf skorts (and other golf apparel) at different price points.

Have fun shopping and discovering all the amazing fun golf fashions.

Best Sun Protection Hats for Women Golfers

It is essential for golfers to wear protective clothing and hats to avoid the sun’s damaging rays. We can spend anywhere between 2 – 5 hours out in the blazing sun on any given round.

Golf hats play an important role in sun protection for golfers. Shielding the face helps golfers 1) keep the sun out of the eyes, 2) protect against harmful rays, skin cancers, and melanoma, and 3) keep the face and neck youthful-looking.

And golf hats can be a fun way to add fashion or pizzaz to a golfer’s attire and overall look. With so many more apparel options these days, we can actually play golf in style and comfort. Hats can be a great way to accessorize our golf outfits.

I have listed a quick list of my favorite women’s sun hats for golf depending on what you are looking for. Scroll down further for descriptions and the buying guide.

There is also an adjustable cord inside the hat to help with a more customized fit. The downside is the cotton material. Sunday Afternoons Sunset Hat

The Sunday Afternoons Sunset Hat is very stylish and the brim is adjustable and bendable for playing golf. I like to adjust the brim when hitting the ball so I can see a bit more, then readjust for more coverage during the round. Besides its UPF 50+ rating, this hat is lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking for those hot golf days.

  • hand washable, straw material
  • good for high buns and updo’s

Cons:

  • large brim might be an issue while hitting a golf shot

Titleist Golf Hat

For sun protection, these hats are a bit limited in their coverage. Although they are great for shielding the sun’s rays from the upper portion of your face and eyes, they leave your ears, neck and sides of your face exposed.

However, I put this on here because I love my baseball-style golf caps. I particularly like the look and feel of the Titleist golf cap. On days where it’s cloudy and the sun isn’t an issue, this is my go-to hat. Titleist is a wonderful golf brand and has been making quality golf clothing, apparel, and equipment for many years.

Depending on your style, baseball caps for golfers come in pretty much any color, style and brand that you can imagine or want. This one is great because it comes with a magnetic clip so a ball marker can be placed on the bill.

  • great brand
  • moisture-wicking sweatband
  • standard curve bill and stretch fit
  • baseball cap style golf hat
  • ball marker magnet

Cons:

  • front bill only – limited sun protection coverage
  • not UPF 50+

Golf Hat Buying Guide

What to Consider When Choosing a Sun Protective Golf Hat

1. Full or Partial Sun Protection

This is something to ask yourself because there truly are many different styles that you can wear. Anything from sun hats, wide brim golf hats, ball caps, bucket hats and golf visors. You name it, it’s out there.

If you are just looking for a hat to protect your eyes from the glare of the sun, the most popular golf hat today is the baseball cap. And this goes for women, men and juniors.

It is what the majority of the Tour Players wear and what I see when I head to the golf course. The great thing about these is that there is no shortage of styles, colors, and brands to choose from.

I personally love the look of a good quality golf cap and have collected quite a few over the years. The only downside to these is that many lack the UPF 50+ rating and only protect the upper portion of the face. This leaves the back of the neck, the ears and part of the face exposed to the sun.

For partial sun protection, you could go with a simple bucket hat that will help protect the back of the neck and especially the ears.

For full coverage, you could go with a medium to large brim golf hat. However, I like the straw hats like the ones you wear to the beach. They are stylish , cooling and provide the extra sun protection for full coverage. And many of them have an adjustable brim which is good for playing golf.

If you decide on a wide brimmed hat, just be careful. It may be too big and can impede your golf game.

2. UPF Rating – Ultraviolet Protection Factor

According to skincancer.org, “a UPF rating means that it is certified to protect from the sun. Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays and allows two percent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly.”

A UPF 30 is the minimum amount needed to qualify for The American Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation.

Be sure to check the product description or inside tag of a hat. It will usually tell you if it is rated and the UPF number. Those that have this rating will be more protective than those without the rating.

3. Travel Friendly and Packable

Will you be travelling and packing your hat?

Make sure to look closely to see if the hat can be folded, is bendable and packable if you need to travel with your hat. Can it be easily packed in a suitcase? Things to consider when purchasing a new hat.

4. Washable

There are some really great ways to wash baseball caps these days. Contraptions like a Ball Cap Hat Washer can help you wash your ball caps, almost looking brand new. We stuck ours in the dishwasher and our hats came out nice and clean. Most of the dirt and sweat marks were gone. Other sun hats, I just do a quick wipe down if needed or throw them in the washing machine if they are washable.

There are also tsweat bands that you insert right into the inside of a hat to help keep the sweat and moisture controlled and comfortable. These are great to prevent all the sweat, sunscreen, makeup, and dirt that collects where the forehead rests against the hat.

5. Fashionable or Practical for Golf?

Fashion and style is important to some and it is fun!

Just be careful and consider functionality too.

I’ve bought some hats in the past that were really cute, but there was no way I could actually play golf in them. You should have seen me trying to hit my golf ball with this large floppy hat.

Some hats may not stay on with a lot of wind either. And there was an outdoorsy hiking style that was very protective of the sun, but I never wore for golf. As I just didn’t like the look so it ended up staying in my closet.

So, keep in mind style, fashion and also being practical or functional for golf.

6. Price

You can find golf hats at pretty much any price point. I personally like to go with brands that are known for their quality craftsmanship simply because I know it may fit better and will hopefully last longer. And it doesn’t necessarily need to be a sun hat for golf. Many of the hats I listed above can be used for many different activities.

7. Fit and Comfort

Make sure the hat you choose is the right size for you. Many hats nowadays can be adjusted either by a strap or cord on the inside of the hat or in the back where it connects.

Except that my golf gloves are usually pretty worn in because I find when I buy a brand new glove, they are always so tight and stiff that it takes a while to break them in. And then once they are worn in, I want to keep it forever because I like the feel.

Well, I think I have found the answer to my golf glove dilemma.

Enter Shelley West, from Nailed Golf, who has designed and created golf gloves specifically for women that are soft and pliable and steeped in comfort and already feel like they are worn in.

Standing at almost 6 feet tall, Shelley always found it so hard to find not only golf outfits and clothes that fit her, but also golf gloves that fit her long slender fingers.

Men’s golf gloves were always too wide and bulky for her hands. She realized that many of the golf gloves on the market were designed more for men than for women.

Designing a Golf Glove for Women By a Woman

So, she decided to take it into her own hands (my husband’s puns are rubbing off on me!)) and design and create her own line of women’s golf gloves.

I love how women like Shelley are stepping forward and making a difference in women’s golf. She couldn’t find what she needed so she saw an opportunity to bring value to the industry and make a change.

As I talk to more and more individuals in the business of golf, it is not an easy task to bring new products to this market either. It is a steep learning curve that takes lot of patience, belief in yourself, confidence and follow-through.

Her company, Nailed Golf, offers a golf glove that has a softer more natural feel with a customized and tailored fit.

We no longer have to continue wearing the stiffer, more masculine or bulky golf gloves that are made for men. Nope. These gloves fit a women’s hands and are designed to be a bit slimmer in the fingers and are made with soft, smooth quality Cabretta leather that are amazingly comfortable.

Nailed Golf Glove Sizing and Design Options

You can choose an array of different accent colors on your golf glove so you can be stylish and match your golf outfits.

Shelley’s initial golf glove design was to account for women with long slender fingers like hers, which she calls the Elegance Collection. In addition, she offers a Luxury Collection, which are great for a more standard size, as well as smaller hands, like mine. Also in her lineup is a youth glove for junior golfers.

These golf gloves come in a few more sizing options than the typical S, M & L. And she carries gloves for both right and left hands.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention her ingenious “Tip-Free” Ladies’ Golf Glove Collection which accommodates nicely manicured hands and fingernails.

Here are the different collections here with links so you can find out more information.

Cabretta Leather – the Gold Standard in Golf Gloves

I didn’t realize until I actually tried these on, that golf gloves could feel so soft and comfortable just out of the packaging.

The leather used in Nailed Golf’s designs are made with the best leather out there – a soft Cabretta leather that makes for an exceptional feel, which is really important when you are out on the golf course.

Shelley mentioned to me that Cabretta leather offers superior breathability while reducing extra moisture and helps keep perspiration to a minimum.

Caring for your Golf Gloves

The best way to take care of this premium leather and to extend the quality and life of your golf glove is to take your gloves off every 6 or 7 holes.

This allows the leather breathe and air out a bit and helps to wick away any moisture.

After your round is finished, it is always best to store them flat so they can air out and maintain the soft suppleness and will be ready to be worn again for your next round on the course.

Check out the really cute golf glove bag and holder that you attach to your golf bag and hang your glove on. It makes it a lot easier to store your glove properly when not wearing it.

My Final Thoughts on Nailed Golf Ladies Golf Gloves

These are a game-changer for me. It is interesting how I have golfed for over 25 years and have just accepted the fact that a golf glove is a golf glove.

But, the golf glove is the closest connection from your all-important hands to your golf club and can have an affect on your golf shot.

They say grip is one of the most important aspects of your golf game and you want to make sure the feel from your golf glove is snug, tailored and comfortable.

One thing that I do that is unique is I wear two golf gloves.

Yes, one on each hand. I know some people who don’t wear a glove at all, but I actually love the feel of having a golf glove on each hand as it gives me more traction and a more solid feel when gripping the club.

The real reason though for wearing a glove on each hand is that I dislike having one hand darker and dryer than the other.

I have naturally dry skin and the hand that was always unprotected would become darker, dryer, with sunspots by the end of the Summer. I tested a few sun protection type gloves which were a bit strange feeling and I did not care for the feel of them.

So, several years ago, I switched over to wearing a glove on each hand.

What I really like about the Nailed Golf gloves is the overall feel as they fit my hands really well, are soft and comfortable straight out of the packaging (so no having to wear them in), and are much lighter than a typical glove.

This can be especially significant in the heat of the Summer when the temperatures rise and the humidity sets in.

I’d love to hear what you think, so comment below with your thoughts.

Review of the Best Women’s Golf Shoes

Ladies’ or women’s golf shoes are probably one of the most overlooked yet important items you will buy when playing golf.

If you are just starting out as a beginner golfer, there is also the option of just wearing sneakers or running shoes which is what I did in the beginning.

As I started to play more golf though, I realized that having a good pair of shoes made specifically for golf, helped keep my feet stable, and provided better traction as well as weather protection in wet conditions than my sneakers.

When I started golfing over 25 years ago, there really was only one type of golf shoe available. Maybe a few different colors but it was pretty much the traditional leather golf shoes with metal spikes.

Like much of the golf industry, the golf shoe market today has exploded and I believe now has a much larger focus on comfort, performance, style, and fashion.

With so many choices now, I thought it would be helpful to provide a golf shoe buying guide to help you navigate purchasing a pair of golf shoes and what to think about when looking at all the different styles and brands out there.

I admit that I love shoes and I love golf and may have purchased and accumulated quite a few pairs over the years. I am happy to talk about the pros and cons as well.

I’ve listed my favorites and top recommended ladies’ golf shoes here. Keep reading or scroll below to find the buying guide for women’s golf shoes.

The List of Best Women’s Golf Shoes

Skechers Golf Shoes

Skechers has been in the shoe business for almost 30 years and is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to comfort and performance.

If you watch golf on TV or read any to the golf magazines, you may have seen Tour players, Matt Kuchar or Brooke Henderson wearing their Skechers Go Golf Shoes.

I love the fact that Skechers has now moved into the golf market as comfort is really so important in our sport especially if you are walking 9 or 18 holes.

Skechers Go Golf Women’s Max Golf Shoe

These Skechers Max Golf Shoes for Women are designed to look and feel like a sneaker or running shoe. They are lightweight, extremely comfortable, and offered in many different colors and styles.

Wide sizes are available, and as with many athletic shoes, it may be smart to go up a 1/2 size. These are spikeless golf shoes, which means they do still have tiny plastic grippers or nubs that provide some traction while golfing.

I own a pair of these Skechers Go Golf Max shoes and have worn them for the last several years. The golf course I play is pretty hilly so I need comfortable and reliable golf shoes that have enough grip and traction and are good for walking 18 holes of golf with my pushcart. These are one of my go-to golf shoes.

My reason for switching to a sneaker-like golf shoe was to help with my Achilles heel issue that I had developed. I needed to find a golf shoe that I could still walk 18 holes and not aggravate the pain on one of my heels. I like the mesh fabric as it is more flexible and not rigid in the back part of the shoe.

The mesh fabric also is extremely breathable in really hot weather, which keeps your feet cooler when the temperatures rise.

The downside to the mesh fabric is that they are not water-resistant or water proof, which means wet feet with even a little amount of wet weather or on dewy mornings.

I have noticed there are a few styles that have a synthetic rubber strip that wraps around the toe area, which might help with keeping the feet dry on those dewy mornings.

A great tip I was given when these golf shoes get dirty is to throw them in the washing machine. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they came out- clean and almost new looking and this was after 2 seasons of wear and tear.

Pros

  • Sneaker-like comfort
  • Price
  • Gripping traction with spikeless golf shoe
  • Fabric mesh is breathable and comfortable
  • Easy to clean
  • Many different color and style options
  • Machine washable

Cons

  • The mesh fabric is not water resistent or waterproof

Skechers Go Golf Women’s Eagle Golf Shoes

These Skechers Eagle Golf Shoes for Women are lightweight, comfortable, water-resistant, and are offered in several different style and color combinations.

As with many Skechers shoes, these are made with comfort in mind and use the Goga cushioning technology. Wide sizes are available, however, as with many athletic shoes, it may be smart to go up a 1/2 size.

These are spikeless golf shoes, which actually means there are still tiny plastic spikes or nubs that help grip the ground when hitting your golf shots.

Made with a synthetic material, they wipe clean and are water-resistant on dewy mornings.

Pros

  • Price
  • Comfort and GOGA Max Cushioning
  • Water-Resistant
  • Wipes Clean
  • Spikeless
  • Odor inhibitor, wicking moisture away, long lasting

Cons

  • Plastic grippers can get a little slippery on hard surfaces.
  • Tongue is attached to the shoe with a somewhat narrow opening
  • Water resistant, but no waterproof guarantee

ECCO Biom Hybrid Women’s Golf Shoe

This Women’s Ecco Biom Hybrid Golf Shoe is another favorite and is ultra-comfortable. The Ecco brand is a Danish company founded in 1963 and is known for its high-quality soft leather walking shoes around the world. They are also known for their innovation in footwear. In golf, to ensure a proven spikeless technology, they tested 2500 athletes to make sure that the shoe would perform to the highest level.

The 4 dots on the shoe symbolize “quality, comfort, technology, and style”. These ladies Ecco golf shoes provide amazing comfort for the golfer who needs a comfortable walking shoe as well as weather protection on wet rainy days or wet conditions on the golf course.

I wore these for at least 5 years and they were a favorite. Extremely comfortable, waterproof and I loved the soft leather which for me didn’t need to be broken in.

Pros

  • High-quality shoe and brand
  • Waterproof with Hydromax technology
  • Extremely comfortable for walking 9 or 18 holes
  • Soft, breathable high-quality leather
  • Spikeless
  • Comes in multiple different color choices

Cons

  • Price

Adidas PureBoost XG 2 Women’s Golf Shoes

I really am starting to like the Adidas Golf brand. I feel like they are designing some great apparel and shoes that seem to fit women.

The Adidas PureBoost XG Golf Shoes for Women are lightweight, flexible, and extremely solid feeling when walking the golf course and playing a round. They provide light to moderate arch support and are designed with a patented Boost foam technology that provides energized cushioning.

Adidas PureBoost XG 2 Women's Golf Shoe

These particular Adidas shoes for golf are made with the mesh fabric that a lot of running type golf shoes are now made with, making them quite flexible and breathable. It has a synthetic strip on the toe area that helps keep dew from getting your feet wet. They are good for a nice sunny day however, they are not waterproof for muddy, wet or rainy conditions. I was concerned when I wore these on dewy mornings, but I wore them all last season with no issues with soggy feet.

I have been really surprised at how comfortable they are and how solid they feel. In fact, I just bought another pair in the black color for this season. So comfortable and cute!

One other note is that if you walk a lot, these were great for all the hills and terrain at my home course. I usually like loose-fitting golf shoes, but these provide my feet with a little extra support and coverage needed especially when walking some of the uneven terrains.

Just be careful when ordering as I went up a full size bigger and these shoes tend to run a bit on the narrow side. Also, the tongue is attached so you do need to fit your foot into the opening. Other than that, these are quickly becoming my new go-to golf shoes.

Pros

  • Come in a choice of 3 colors.
  • Light arch support
  • Lightweight cloudfoam provides great cushioning
  • Spikeless golf shoes with small extra treads for grips
  • Mesh provides flexibility and breathability
  • Lateral stability through the golf swing

Cons

  • A snug fit that runs a bit narrow. Best to order 1/2 – 1 full size up.
  • A slip-on sneaker, tongue is attached.
  • Mesh fabric – not water-resistant or waterproof.

Adidas Response Bounce Women’s Golf Shoes

The Adidas Women’s Response Bounce Golf Shoes are a great all around golf shoe. They provide “cushioning, comfort, stability for maximum golf performance”.

The cushioning technology uses a Bounce Foam technology that allows for amazing comfort while walking 9 or 18 holes of golf.

These ladies golf shoes have actual soft spikes so if you need a golf shoe that will grip the ground as you swing, then these Adidas golf shoes will help you with that extra traction needed.

A friend of mine owns a pair of these and she mentioned that she likes how light and comfortable they are and that they keep her feet dry during some wetter conditions on the course.

Pros

  • Price
  • Comfortable for walking 9 or 18 holes using Bounce Foam technology
  • Spikes for traction and gripping performance
  • Microfiber leather and climastorm water resistant protection

Cons

  • Leather might be a bit stiffer than a soft mesh or fabric

FootJoy DryJoys Women’s Golf Shoes

I can not have a list of best women’s golf shoes without including FootJoy, a long-standing premier maker of golf shoes. They have been making shoes since 1857, and focus on “craftmanship, technology, style, fit and function”.

These Women’s Footjoy DryJoy BOA Golf Shoes provide midfoot stability, enhanced traction, and comfort. If you are looking for enhanced, top-of-the-line traction and gripping performance in your golf swing, the Footjoy DryJoys use SoftSpike cleat technology.

Made with a full grain leather, they also come with a 2-year waterproof guarantee.

The ladies DryJoy golf shoes do not have laces to tie. Instead it uses BOA technology to help tighten the laces for a more custom fit for your feet.

In the beginning, they may feel a bit stiff as they are made of high-quality durable leather and may take time wearing in.

Footjoy Dryjoys were my first ever pair of golf shoes and once worn in, they lasted for many many years, keeping my feet nice and dry in all weather conditions.

Pros

  • High-quality full grain leather golf shoe
  • Great traction with Softspike cleats during your golf swing
  • 2 year waterproof guarantee
  • Long lasting golf shoe

Cons

  • Price
  • A little stiff and tight, may take time to wear in

Overall Recommendation

It is really hard to pick one shoe over another as we as individuals are different especially when it comes to our feet. Having said that, if I were to choose the best women’s golf shoe overall from this list, I’d pick the ECCO Women’s Biom Hybrid Golf Shoe.

I just love this golf shoe for their supreme comfort and that they keep feet dry and protected, and will last many years. It is also the golf shoe that I see others playing in the most on the golf course – so a very popular golf shoe.

Women’s Golf Shoe Buying Guide.

These are some areas and points to consider when buying a pair of shoes for golf.

1. Comfort

Think about whether you will be walking a flat golf course, a hilly golf course or riding in a golf cart mostly.

If you are walking a golf course, especially if it is a long or hilly course, finding the right golf shoes is so very important. In this case, you will want to find golf shoes that are pretty much made for walking and are super comfortable. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable for 4-5 hours or in agony.

However, if you will mostly be riding in a cart, then you won’t be walking as much. Which means you can look at other options of golf shoes.

2. Weather Protection

Do you need water resistant or waterproof shoes?

Water resistant golf shoes will keep your feet fairly dry in dewy grass and some wetness on the course.

Be careful of the mesh sneaker-style golf shoes as they may not be very weather protective since they are made of fabric and not leather/synthetic leather. However, some of the new fabrics out there are increasingly using water resistant technologies that are pretty amazing.

Having a rubber or synthetic strip along the toe may help with morning dew and smaller amounts of water on the course.

Waterproof golf shoes will keep your feet dry in rainy and wetter conditions. There are golf shoes that come with a 1 or 2-year waterproof guarantee with your purchase so if this is something that is really important to you, it may be worthwhile looking into.

3. Budget and Price

The many different options of golf shoes on the market today, comes with every price range as well.

As with fashion and apparel in any industry, you can find practically anything you need at the right price. A high-quality shoe at a higher price may last many years and provide everything you need.

A lower-priced golf shoe that provides the comfort you need may not last as many years, but since it was priced lower, you can purchase another pair or even several pairs in different colors for a fraction of the higher-priced shoes.

4. Fashion and Style

Biion Women's Golf Shoes

These Biion Footwear Women’s Golf Shoes seem to be all the rage this year. I like to think of them as Crocs meets golf shoes. They are so fun, and I always get tons of compliments and questions about them. Some people don’t wear socks with them, but I like to wear little footie socks. These are great to wear especially if you will be out for a casual round of golf and riding in a cart. And they have tons of different patterns, styles and colors!

For a 20% discount on your whole order, be sure to use code LYNNCOTTER at checkout.

I golfed with a woman in a local charity tournament and she had the cutest little golf flats or golf moccasins. I asked if they were golf shoes and she told me they were and that she only wears them when she doesn’t have to walk the hilly course like the one we were playing. I found them online here and they are so cute! Marc Joseph Moccasin Golf Shoes

What is so great is you can find so many fun and unique fashionable ladies’ shoes that are also golf shoes. Just like with women’s golf clothes and apparel, there are many more options available than ever before. Golf brands are finally becoming much more creative and fun.

Last year, I could not stop thinking about these particular Gfore golf shoes that I saw in our Pro Shop and ended up splurging on them (used some of my tournament and league winnings).

Women's Golf Shoes

They are a name brand and yes, they are fashionable and stylish golf shoes. I only wear them when I am riding in a cart, or playing in fun golf events and charity tournaments.

But, they look great and I love the fashion statement these golf shoes make. I think my pair was a past year’s model, but here is a link to a cute pair of gfore women’s golf shoes in pink and white, which is also really unique and stylish.

5. Foot Issues

If you have foot issues, it is extremely important to find the right shoes since you will be wearing them for 4-5 hours and possibly walking.

My feet were fine until I developed an Achilles heel issue – mostly in one particular foot. So, now I need to wear golfing shoes that help alleviate that pain and that I can still walk and golf in for 18 holes.

Luckily I found a few different brands that meet my needs. From research and talking to others, I found that having a mesh or fabric backing was the key.

My husband, on the other hand, has high arches and a bit of plantar fasciitis, so he needs golf shoes that help support his arches and has used inserts as well.

6. Spikes versus Spikeless

The metal spikes that I grew up playing with were crazy strong and could ruin hardwood floors in clubhouses and golf course greens.

These were officially banned by golf courses around the late 1990’s due mostly to damage to the greens. There are some Tour golfers that still play in metal spikes most likely because of the traction and groundedness they provide.

Spikeless golf shoes aren’t flat and smooth. They usually come with some of kind of small plastic grippers or nubs that will help you grip the ground, but they won’t provide as much traction as actual plastic soft spikes.

The new plastic soft spikes are a cross between the old metal spikes and spikeless golf shoes soles. Maybe you need more traction for walking up and down slippery fairways and terrain or need extra traction in your golf swing. These soft spikes provide just that for the recreational golfer or amateur player.

7. Leather, Synthetic Leather and Mesh or Fabric

I have many golf friends who have been golfing for years. Their go-to is the traditional leather golf shoe and they love them. These have been around since the early 1900s. They are high quality with genuine leather, are usually waterproof, and will stand the test of time. The only downside with the hard leather is that they tend to be stiff and inflexible and need some time to wear in. But people still love them.

The mesh and fabric-covered shoes provide a soft and flexible golf shoe that provides some serious comfort on the golf course. But, the downside is that they typically lack in weather protection and keeping your feet fully dry on wet rainy days.

Think about the temperatures outside as well. Leather or synthetic leather shoes may not be as breathable in hot weather. Whereas a mesh or fabric-covered shoe may be better at keeping your feet cooler. Yet, on a colder raw day in the Fall or Winter, it might be better to have the leather shoes to keep your feet warmer.

New softer leathers, synthetic leather and materials are being developed with new technologies every year, which is really exciting. Shoe manufacturers and designers are coming out with golf shoes that combine all these different characteristics and needs from weather protection, comfort, style, and overall performance.

Good Luck Shoe Shopping!

I hope this golf shoe guide has helped you on your journey of finding the right shoes for you. If you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear them. Feel free to comment below.

Women’s Golf Pants Make Their Debut This Spring

On the topic of women’s golf fashion, hot off the press and coming to a golf course near you is a new golf pants line available this April 2020.

The world of women’s golf fashion is changing and very exciting.  And I can’t wait to see what the major trends will be this year.

I recently had the chance to sit down with Emily Farrell, Founder & CEO of Abendroth Golf

I first met Emily at a golf wellness event, where golf professionals and amateurs came together to spend the day learning everything from health, wellness, golf fitness, and swing mechanics.

It was interesting because she realized that we had first connected through social media and golf on Instagram a while back.

Emily and I were able to chat more recently about our paths, goals, similar missions and the state of the industry for women and golf.

Starting A Clothing Line While Juggling a Family and A Full-Time Career

It was a 2-hour chat that could have gone on for much longer if we had more time. I was looking forward to our meeting as I had the chance to do a little research beforehand on her background, her professional career, and how she decided to start a clothing line all on her own while working a full-time job and juggling a family.

Emily Farrell in Her Peggy Pants

Emily, like many women I know, is a multi-tasker.  Yet, she seems to do it with ease and inner confidence.

She didn’t say this, but she didn’t need to.  I figured it out pretty quickly.

Not only is Emily the Founder and CEO of a start-up clothing company, but she is also a wife, mother, PGA Professional & Assistant Pro at The Country Club, a prestigious golf club in Brookline, Massachusetts, and she offers and teaches a women’s golf clinic at the Harmon Club.

Ok, I could barely fit that all in one sentence.

Emily grew up in Minnesota, played high school golf and like many during her time, was the only girl on her high school golf team.

It was at Methodist University, in North Carolina where she played collegiate golf and was surprised and thrilled to find so many young women like her who were just as passionate as she was about the game of golf.

Opting to go the corporate route after college, Emily found her niche in advertising, then creative work, and brand strategy at Titleist.  Here, she cut her teeth working hard for a large well-known golf brand.

However, she truly missed the golf side of the industry and making personal connections with people on the golf course.  She thought a career move might give her a bit more free time to follow a childhood dream of someday owning her own clothing line.

The change was a really good move. Working at The Country Club, Emily is fortunate to be a part of an incredible team and have the time to follow her other passion.

The Peggy Pant – Women’s Golf Pants

The idea of starting a pants line came when she was working several years ago on location doing photo shoots and working on golf courses with Titleist.

The options for women’s professional attire were limited for female professionals in the golf industry.

Emily decided to do something about it and designed her own line of comfortable, wearable, and professional pants.  Starting from scratch, she started a Kickstarter campaign which was very well received, raising all the money she needed to launch her Peggy Pant line.  Though starting up a clothing line has been quite a journey, complete with new challenges every day, and a steep learning curve, she has been able to navigate the process with much success.

“My goal is to transform the way women dress on and off the golf course.

The Peggy Pant is femininely cut, high-waisted with premium performance materials that include four-way stretch, water resistant and sweat wicking, and comfortably worn for any type of weather.”

Already on her 4th sample, she continues to tweak and perfect the pants so she can have a good solid product.

Just in time for the spring golf season.

Though these pants were originally marketed for women going from the golf course to the office and vice versa.  What she has found through market research and talking to others is that the Peggy Pant would be useful for women in other professions, like teachers and business travelers that also require being active on the job, and yet still need a professional look.

There has been much interest in the Peggy Pant.  I personally am hoping to see her pants line on the racks in golf clubs, leisure athletic stores and golf courses across the country.

Where to Find These Golf Pants for Women

For now, pre-sales are available for purchase on her website at www.abendrothgolf.com and you can follow Emily on many of the social media channels like Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
